For high achievement in violin, viola and cello performance

SCHEDULE & TUITION

The academic year follows the West Windsor and Princeton public school calendars. There are approximately 37-38 weeks of private lessons per academic year. A six to eight week summer schedule is also offered. Tuition is based on the length of lesson. A FREE TRIAL LESSON is offered for prospective families.

Tuition entitles each student to all scheduled private lessons, group classes, solo recitals, group recitals, master classes and faculty recitals. No credit is given for student absences. Payment is due by the first day of each quarter.

Parental Attendance

It is expected that parents of a beginning student attend all private lessons and practice with their child Every Day. Parents need to be actively involved in the education process by taking notes during lessons and following through on the ideas from the teacher in the daily practice. Positive and encouraging parental support is one of the most important factors in the success of the child. As the student progresses, less hands-on involvement from the parent will be required.

Inclement Weather

When the public schools cancel or dismiss classes early, you may cancel your lesson if you wish. If you feel you can attend your lesson safely, you are welcome to keep your lesson. Parents can make up their own mind as to the safety of traveling. Please call about your decision. Group lessons will not be made up for inclement weather, however, private lessons will be made up at a convenient time.

Make-Up Lesson Policy

Hour-long group makeup lessons are offered for any missed lesson. These makeups are scheduled about once a month, or to meet demand, with three to four students.  The group makeup policy offers students the benefits of a longer lesson time and the learning from watching other students play. Individual makeup lessons are only given in the event of inclement weather.

Concert Dress and Etiquette

Concert dress for group concerts consists of dark pants or skirt with white or very light dress shirt or blouse. For solo recitals, students may wear any appropriate formal attire. Students must arrive 20 minutes before the scheduled recital time. No flash cameras should be used during a performance.

Summer Lessons

Summer lessons are arranged in May and are offered for approximately eight weeks.
