The Princeton String Academy |

Twice a year students appear in recital, giving solo performances of pieces they mastered several months earlier. By choosing familiar pieces, students can focus on enjoying their performance, not mastering difficult new techniques.
Students also take part two group concerts each year. In addition, we occasionally stage informal group performances at locations in the community.
In the fall of 2003 we hosted our first master class, an exciting afternoon of intensive study with Philadelphia Symphony violinist Jonathan Beiler as guest clinician. This spring we introduced our newest program, a Chamber Music Week, where students began mastering the unique challenges of solo part playing within an ensemble.
The Holiday 2003 concert was shared with residents of Acorn Glen, a retirement community in Princeton.
Our Spring 2003 concert featured a work commonly known as the Bach Double, the Concerto in D Minor for Two Violins, plus some Bartok dances and a transcription for orchestra of Bach's Brandenburg Concerto Number 3.
Highlights of the Spring 2002 concert, called Viva Vivaldi, were the Vivaldi Concerto in A Minor, a three-movement work performed by the violin and viola group classes and Vivaldi's "Spring" from The Four Seasons, performed by the Orchestra.
